Instructions for Wildflower Captains

Thank you for volunteering for this year’s Wildflower Ride!  The leadership of our captains and the devotion of our teams have made this ride one of the best bicycling events in our state.

Your folder contains the following important papers and information:

  1. Captain’s Reports from previous years’ rides
  2. A blank club Incident Report Form to be used if you observe or come across an incident during the ride.  It is very important to get the cyclist’s name and emergency contact information, if possible.  This report is also available on the club website.
  3. A blank Captain's Report to complete and return with your folder after the Ride. Use the Rest Stop Form if you are captain of a rest stop. Otherwise use the General Form. Use the appropriate form, fill it out on your computer, print the result and add it to your folder.
  4. Most current list of your team's members can always be found on line (use the Get Team List on your volunteer page at the member site). Volunteer coordinator Mark Lyon, (805) 929-5998 or lyonm@charter.net), will continue to recruit volunteers, update this list (although the on line lists will only provide names - no contact information).
  5. Please use the Reimbursement Form to get reimbursements for your expenditures,

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT ALL OF YOUR VOLUNTEERS BY PHONE OR EMAIL. Encourage them to attend the volunteer meeting, participate in pre-ride, and attend the volunteer brunch. Below is a list of meetings, events, dates and who should attend.
