I got off to a good start and climbed over the first two summits. But it kept getting hotter (it was 95 with a humidity over 90%). As I was climbing toward the third summit, the head (95 degrees with a humidity over 90%) finally wore me out, so I hopped into the SAG.

There was a fantastic view from this last summit - you could see four states (New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire.

The last part of the trip into Greenfield (including the downhill I missed) was quite green and lush.

Frank and Joyce Luddington met me at the hotel and we had a wonderful dinner together. Then they drove me around the area.

Another very hot and humid day. While the hills were more spreadout and not as difficult, the heat again finally got to me.

Harvey was hoping to follow me today, but a connection problem in Phoenix nixed that plan. He met me at the hotel, and that was nice.

Started at 7:15 AM with everyone riding as a group. At 5 miles from the end, we grouped together and rode two by two to the river and beach where the ride ended.

After lots of pictures, we headed to the hotel.

Feeling really great, but expect to feel quite emotional tomorrow when the group says its good-byes and everyone heads their own way.

Harvey and I will now spend a week together in the Boston area. On Saturday, the Luddingtons are going to take us on a tour of Boston. Then we'll be on our own.

Then on July 2, we board a plane and fly to Anchorage where we'll spend a week with the kids. On July 14 we'll return to the central coast.
