| There
are 85 riders on this segment. 12 are staff riding. 35 riders are riding the full
coast to coast. Others are riding selected segments. The course is well marked and the staff is very helpful. We had about 40 miles of roads with almost no cars. The roads were well paved. Tomorrow is a hard climb. Even the strong climbers are concerned. After we get to the top, there is 40 miles of down hill. 2 days ago there was snow falling at the top of the pass. Every one is having a good time. A deer and a fawn ran through a group of riders. The fawn was only about a foot tall. | Skykomish
| It
was long but doable (the ride to Wenatchee over Seven's Pass). The views were
outstanding. The group found a side road that was so great it was hard to believe. The ride down the river was just one great view after another. When we got to Leavenworth, some shopped to sample the beer, which is famous the world over. We have 15 countries represented on the tour, and 22 states. Cal and NY each have 3, while most have one. The person I rode with today has ridden the RAGBRAI 14 times and he will take the time off from the tour to ride it this year. He will then return to this ride. We are staying at a very nice middle school, tonight, under some nice cool trees. It is very peaceful at the schools. It is now warm and tomorrow is long. Some of us will leave early to beat the heat [99]. | Wenatchee
